Project role
BRE will take an industry facing role in HyConstruct, focusing on capturing learning from the project and sharing it with the construction sector. BRE is also managing stakeholder engagement, sharing demonstrator findings with industry professionals, and gathering feedback to help shape future adoption pathways. During the demonstrator, BRE will oversee data collection and contribute to the assessment of on site refuelling and hydrogen supply feasibility to support commercially viable low carbon construction operations.
BRE will map the processes within the supply chain and use of hydrogen at the project construction sites. They will develop the key performance indicators and metrics to assess the impact of hydrogen-powered vehicles on productivity, the quantification of emissions and end-to-end greenhouse gases, and health, safety, and regulatory issues.
BRE will work with leading industry network Constructing Excellence to support with industry stakeholder engagement.
